Spend some time this weekend and think about your immediate next move. I know it’s not the most exciting thing in the world, but I’ve found it’s really important to have a sense of where you COULD go if something were to happen (layoff, etc), if someone asks and/or if you’re on the verge of a mid-life-awakening (crisis) … like I was before I started my own gig! Write down some potential moves, titles, organizations, etc that seem appealing to you as an immediate next step. That’s all you need to do – now you have options!
My immediate next move is author … too ambitious??
