Your Weekend Guide (4/4/2020)
Need some stuff to do? I’m here to help!
Hey, it’s almost the weekend (I think???) and wanted to send you some ideas if you’re looking for some stuff to do, watch, read, drink.
Here’s what I’ve been up to:
What I’m watching: Making the Cut (Amazon Prime). I only have one thing to say: Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are back. Enough said.
What meditations I’m digging: Dan Harris of Ten Percent Happier is putting-on a weekday “Virtual Break” with leading meditation practices and Q&A. It’s only 20 minutes starting at noon pacific and I’m finding the YouTube live sessions really helpful. The discussion from today around “Self-Compassion” was especially good!
What I’m reading: I just finished The Self-Care Solution: A Year of Becoming Happier, Healthier, and Fitter – One Month at a Time by Jennifer Ashton. Lots of motivation here. Heck, why don’t you try one of her recommendations once a WEEK for the near future?
What PodCasts I’m listening to: Brené Brown just launched “Unlocking Us” and I’m really liking it. Check her out on 60 Minutes from Sunday 3/29 and she’s also appearing tonight (4/2) on CNN’s “Town Hall” starting at 5p pacific.
What music I’m playing: I cannot get enough of Dua Lipa’s latest “Future Nostalgia.” So much fun and perfect for afternoon dog walks around the neighborhood.
What I’m enjoying during my virtual happy hour: Those of you who know me well, know I love a good PNW IPA. My favorite for those of you in Seattle/Portland – Bodhizafa IPA from Georgetown Brewing.
What I’m talking about: I’m so grateful to be able to help my community during this challenging time. Want to talk or know someone who could use some help? Sign-up for free 1:1 coaching this month at calendly.com/engagedpursuit.
Take care of yourself and here’s to your Engaged Pursuit!

My Take - May's Job Numbers
Spark of better things to come? We’ll see… Unemployment numbers for May were released this morning, and the reaction from the analyst community can be summed-up in one word: surprise. 2. 5 million jobs were added in May and the unemployment rate fell to 13. 3 percent. Wall Street is responding positively, with the S&P 500 up o
